Description

Ultra Glass Media is a high-purity, dense filtration media designed to replace traditional sand in FRP vessels. Available in Grade 1 and Grade 2, this media provides superior adsorption and particle removal for whole-house, industrial, and borehole water treatment. It is engineered to remove heavy metals, sediment, and microorganisms while maintaining high efficiency over a long service life.

Features

  • High-Purity Silica: Made from pure glass to ensure no contaminants are introduced to your water supply.

  • Superior Adsorption: High surface area allows for the effective removal of pollutants, heavy metals, and organic impurities.

  • Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to chemical attack, ensuring the media maintains its structure and performance over time.

  • Optimized Flow: Engineered to provide a larger surface area for filtration, resulting in increased efficiency and lower operational costs.

  • Easy Maintenance: The media is easy to backwash, effectively extending its lifespan and reducing downtime.

How It Works

  • Grade 1 (0.5mm – 1.5mm): The finest grade, used for high-precision filtration and adsorption of fine particles and contaminants.

  • Grade 2 (1.5mm – 2.5mm): A slightly coarser grade designed to capture larger particulate matter, sediment, and rust.

  • The Result: Exceptionally clear water with improved taste and odor, while simultaneously extending the life of downstream membranes and UV systems.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance, replace the media every 3 – 5 years:

  • Regular backwashing is recommended to maintain flow rates and filtration quality.
